Thanks for using Deftkeys. These terms are written to be read. By downloading or using Deftkeys, you agree to them.
1. Who provides Deftkeys
Deftkeys is provided by Opus Novum (ABN Entity) (“we”, “us”). You can contact us at hello@deftkeys.com.
2. Apple’s standard terms also apply
You get Deftkeys from Apple’s App Store, so Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”, at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula) also applies. If these terms and the Standard EULA conflict, the Standard EULA wins to the extent of the conflict. These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn’t responsible for Deftkeys or its support, and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.
3. Your licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Deftkeys on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store’s usage rules. You may use Deftkeys for your work and business. Please don’t copy, resell, reverse engineer or redistribute the app or its built-in replies, except where the law allows it.
4. Deftkeys Pro subscriptions
- Deftkeys is free to download and use, with limits on some features. Deftkeys Pro removes those limits and is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple, monthly or yearly. Current prices are shown in the app before you buy, and on our Pricing page.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. Your subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- If a free trial is offered and you subscribe during it, any unused part of the trial ends when you buy.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions on your iPhone. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
- Apple handles all payments and refunds. To ask for a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com.
5. Your content and your messages
Your templates, shortcuts, contact card and anything you type belong to you, and they stay on your iPhone (see our Privacy Policy). You’re responsible for the messages you send with Deftkeys and for having the right to use any personal information they contain. If you use Deftkeys to contact clients or customers, including asking for reviews or sending marketing messages, you’re responsible for following the laws that apply to you, such as spam, consumer protection and privacy laws, and the rules of any review platform you link to.
6. Tone rewrite and suggestions
Tone rewrite, Fix grammar, autocorrect and word suggestions are automated and can make mistakes, change your meaning or miss errors. Always read a message before you send it. Tone rewrite uses Apple Intelligence where it’s available, which Apple provides under its own terms.
7. Fair use
Please don’t use Deftkeys to break the law, to harass or deceive people, or to send unsolicited bulk messages.
8. Changes and availability
We work to keep Deftkeys reliable, but we can’t promise it will always be available, error-free or compatible with every app or iOS version. iOS decides where third-party keyboards can be used; for example, they can’t be used in password fields or in apps that block them. We may update, change or stop features, and we’ll tell you in advance of any change that materially reduces what you’ve paid for.
9. Your consumer rights
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer laws that can’t be excluded. If you’re in Australia, our services come with guarantees that can’t be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If you’re in the European Union, the UK or elsewhere, you keep the mandatory consumer rights of the country where you live.
10. Our liability
To the extent the law allows, Deftkeys is provided “as is”, and we’re not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, data or business opportunities. Where our liability can’t be excluded but can be limited, it’s limited to (at our choice) supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again, or, if that isn’t allowed, to the amount you paid for Deftkeys Pro in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Ending these terms
You can stop using Deftkeys at any time by deleting the app and cancelling any subscription. If you seriously breach these terms, your licence ends.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [state or territory], Australia. If you’re a consumer, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live, and its mandatory laws still apply to you.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we make a significant change, we’ll update the effective date above and let you know in the app or on this website before it applies.
